Sergio Ortega
BComm (Alberta), JD (UVic)
Sergio Ortega has coached the Wilson Moot since 2021.
He works as legal counsel in the Legal Services branch of the B.C. Ministry of Attorney General, where he focuses on constitutional litigation and class actions.
Before joining the ministry, he was a litigator at Osler, Hoskin and Harcourt LLP where he specialized in commercial and tax litigation.
Prior to joining Osler, Sergio completed the J.D. program at the University of Victoria. During his time at the University of Victoria, Sergio worked as a tutor to his peers and as a research assistant to Carol Liao, Tim Richards and the British Columbia Law Institute. Sergio also participated in the Environmental Law Centre and the Business Law clinic.
