Three months before your program begins

  1. Check your registration date and time in your myTRU account. For step-by-step instructions, visit here.
  2. Timetable your courses for Fall and Winter Terms.
  3. Register in your courses on or after registration date and time. You must have paid your tuition deposit in order to register.
  4. Request Confirmation of Enrolment.
    Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) is typically required to access RESPs. To obtain CoE, email records@tru.ca with your T-ID and Confirmation of Enrolment in the subject line. Note: you must request Confirmation of Enrolment for both fall and winter terms.
  5. Understand the waitlist process.
  6. Become familiar with TRU policies and regulations, including class attendance.
  7. Apply for government loans and grants, if applicable.
  8. Explore your Student’s Union.
  9. Connect with Accessibility Services, if applicable.

The month before your program begins

  1. Pay your tuition and fee balance.
  2. Send your selfie for you Campus Card.
  3. Set up your Network Account for wireless access.
  4. Buy your course materials.
    Some students prefer to buy their course materials prior to the start of classes to ensure they’re prepared. Others prefer to wait to purchase course materials during the first week of classes. Either is an option and is based on personal preference.
  5. Register for TRU alerts.
  6. Do you have extended health and dental coverage? Opt-out of TRUSU coverage.
  7. Set up your TRUSU UPASS. A link will be emailed 10 days before the start of the semester.
  8. Purchase your parking permit if you’ll be driving to campus.
  9. Review the Add, Drop, and Withdrawal deadlines.
  10. Attend Orientation.
  11. Start classes!
