Can my academic integrity case go away?
Academic Integrity cases don’t go away. Once a case report form has been initiated by the instructor, it will proceed to the next steps regardless of the status of the student.
When will my case be resolved?
Cases are heard according to the initiation date on the case report form. Cases are normally heard within 60 days from the date of initiation.
What step is my case at?
When you have received the case report form from the instructor, it is at step 2. You will need to sign it and send it back to your instructor
After you have signed the form and forwarded it to the instructor, it will be at step 3, 4 or 5.
When you have received the Academic Integrity Support email from the Office of Student Affairs, then your case is at step 6. Your case is in the queue now and waiting to be presented to the committee.
When you have received an email from the Student Affairs Assistant, presenting you the case package, this means that your case will be heard the following week. This is also your last chance to add anything else that you would like to be presented to the committee.

It can take up to 5 business days after the committee meets about your case for the decision letter to be emailed to you.
Can I meet the academic integrity committee in person to present their case?
The student can meet the learning strategist in person for support and can provide written evidence to refute their case. Students don’t meet the academic integrity committee in person.
I am taking an Open Learning course; can I request to have a different instructor grade my assignment/final exam/final project?
Assignment of instructors is systematic, according to the workload. A student cannot choose the instructor or request for a different instructor to grade their paper. The students can fill out an academic appeals form, after the paper has been graded and if the student is unsatisfied with the outcome.
Can a student appeal the decision of the academic integrity committee?
The decision of the academic Integrity committee is binding and cannot be appealed. A student can only appeal if the due process, mentioned in the Student Academic Integrity policy ED 5.0, has not been followed. The student must provide evidence stating how the due process was not followed.
Does an Academic Integrity case “blacklist” me from the university?
Apart from the sanction, your case does not have any further effect on your academic career. Having an Academic Integrity case does not blacklist a student from the university. Students can continue their course or enroll in other courses while waiting for the decision to be made by the Academic Integrity Committee.
What happens if the student withdraws from the course before the case is presented to the committee?
The case will proceed as normal even if the student withdraws from the course. A note will be added to the student’s account of the decision made on their case.
Can I re-enroll in the course, if the decision on their academic integrity case was an F in the course?
A student can certainly re-enroll in the course, even after getting an F in the course.
If I re-enroll in the open learning course, how can I assure that I don’t get assigned the same instructor again?
Since the instructors are assigned by the system, the students can’t choose which instructor is teaching their course.
If I am waiting on the decision on the recommendation of suspension from the President’s office, can I still enroll in courses?
The student can still enroll in courses while they are waiting for their letter of suspension. A full tuition refund will be done if you are suspended.
