Thompson Rivers University (TRU) welcomes the public to experience its campus as a shared space for learning, reflection, and connection with nature. The University provides free public access to its open and green spaces, inviting community members and visitors alike to explore the trails, gardens, and natural landscapes that make TRU unique.
In addition to its academic and research facilities, TRU offers opportunities for the public to engage with its significant buildings, monuments, and the Visual Art Gallery. The campus serves not only as a place of higher learning but also as a vibrant ecological and cultural landscape that fosters biodiversity, sustainability, and community engagement.

The Campus Commons
Is centrally located in the heart of the campus surrounded by the International Building, Arts & Education, Campus Activity Centre, and the House of Learning. With a combination of flat hard surfaces and rolling green space it’s the perfect place to host your next event.

The Campus Courts
Area is conveniently located outside Old Main and features two full-sized multi-sport courts, a flat paved area and ample green space. Courts must be individually booked for events.

The Campus Greens
Is the beautifully manicured green space between the Clock Tower and Old Main. This space is perfect for group activities like bocce, and social gatherings.

Old Main BMO Student Street
Is a central gathering and service area for students. Please note activity and events in this area are limited due to impacts on shared users of the space.

International Building Foyer
Is the main foyer area of IB. Please note activity and events in this area are limited due to impacts on shared users of the space.
OLARA Open Student Study Space (ARA201)
Is the large open area on the second floor of the OLARA building. Please note activity and events in this area are limited due to impacts on shared users of the space.
