How to update your study permit status with TRU

  • Please update your study permit status with TRU as soon as you receive it, without any delay.
  • Uploading your documents through this form is the only method for submitting your study permit confirmation. Submissions made through alternative means, including email, will not be recorded or processed.
  • Do not upload any other documents except for IRCC’s study permit approval or a “Passport Request Letter.
  • If you are a visiting or an exchange student who does not need a study permit, you must upload a copy of your ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization).
  • Once you have successfully submitted your document through this form, there is no need for resubmission.

Visa confirmation deadlines

  • Fall (September) intake: August 15, or when capacity is reached
  • Summer (May) intake: April 1, or when capacity is reached
  • Winter (January) intake: December 15, or when capacity is reached

Your study permit status is critical for us to plan your studies and to complete your registration at TRU. If you have not yet received your study permit / "Passport Request" letter from IRCC, please save this link and upload the document when you receive it. Your course planning will be prioritized by your study permit status.
