Parking Lottery
Due to high demand, premium and reserved long-term permits for Kamloops campus parking are allocated through a lottery system. The lottery for premium permits for the 2025/26 year (effective Sept. 1) will open April 16.
A full breakdown of all parking options and rates for 2025/26 is available on the Parking FAQs page.
The premium lottery will run from April 16 to May 13. For 2025/26, the premium lots are C, V1 and T2. Winners will be notified by email starting Wednesday, May 14. Winners will have seven days (including weekends) to accept and purchase the permit by clicking the unique link provided to you in the email along with your unique access code.
Premium permits are valid for 1 year only from September 1 to August 31. Premium permit winners are not eligible to keep their premium permit year after year. All premium permits are put back into the lottery each year.
The reserved lottery will run from April 16 to May 30. Winners will be notified by email starting Monday, June 2. Winners will have seven days (including weekends) to accept and purchase the permit by clicking the unique link provided to you in the email along with your unique access code.
Reserved renewals: Current reserved permit holders who confirmed their intent to renew their permit with the Parking Office will receive an email in May on how to re-register their permit for 2025/26. Stalls being renewed will not be part of the lottery.
Please note: If you have applied to both the premium and reserved lotteries, and are offered a premium permit, purchasing that permit will automatically remove your name from the reserved lottery.
How to enter the lottery
When the lottery is live, log into tru.concordparking.com using your TRU credentials.
Apply for your preferred lot(s), choosing one permit type only for each lot, eg monthly recurring or payroll deduction (staff only).
Select your desired permit (by lot) for premium or reserved. The lottery permits will have the date Sep. 1, 2025 - Aug. 31, 2026 followed by an amber "Lottery" box. Click the Lottery box of the permit you want.
Enter your name, phone number and email. If this is the first time you are applying for a permit. This will create your parking account. You will be entered into the lottery for the selected permit. Repeat if interested in other lots.
Note: Choosing more than one permit per lot does not increase your chances and complicates the awarding phase. Duplicate entries for the same lot will be removed. The reserved lottery closes after the premium lottery so if you do not receive a premium permit, there is still time to enter for a reserved permit.
Payment options (credit card or payroll deduction) are selected when you are accepting a permit offer after the lottery concludes. Payment is by credit card on the date you click accept, or by payroll deduction beginning on the effective date of your permit, Sept. 1, 2025.
Note: you are not eligible to win more than once for the same lottery. If you are offered a premium permit and decline it, your remaining options are to enter the reserved lottery or to purchase a general or economy permit. Fall semester general and economy permit sales will open in August.
Wait list
Any unsold Premium and Reserved and wait lists will open approximately two weeks after each lottery is completed.
Anyone who missed the lottery or was not successful in getting a premium or reserved permit can apply to be on a wait list. Waitlists run automatically when a permit is cancelled, declined or not purchased. Recipients of a waitlisted permit will have 24-hours to accept and purchase by clicking the unique link provided to you in the automated email.
