Sculpture and Intermedia

The Sculpture and Intermedia program takes a multi-disciplinary, inclusive approach to art-making, combining skill, a broad range of media and strategies, and a varied conceptual outlook to produce a strong, exciting and well-crafted body of artwork. Students will realize projects through traditional processes of welding, carving, fabrication and casting, to new media practices encompassing site work, video, installation, aspects of performance and time-based art. Students will be encouraged to consider their work in relation to the histories of sculpture, cultural background, popular culture, museum practice and personal experiences.
